THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED! CONGRATULATIONS COMMENT #15 JAMIE
I'm so excited that
Interactive Book-Webscene (IBW) wanted to be apart of my gift guide this year. If you remember I did a review and giveaway for them back in July and you can read that post
here.
Interactive Book-Webscene (IBW) storytelling process combines print text with the interactivity of multimedia: At the end of each chapter, kids are directed to a weblink, called a webscene. Going online to the webscene, they find an animation (and, perhaps, other additional multimedia such as music, games and video) that is an integral part of the story. Once they view the animation, they return to the book to read another chapter, find another link to a webscene, and so on.
The series includes....
The Busy Preschoolers Guide to Learning – fun, original plays, poems and activities built around the letters of the alphabet. Step-by-step help guides parents in how to use everyday situations to teach 105 skills kids need before they walk in the kindergarten door. Simple, detailed directions included with each letter’s activity make it easy for a parent. The activities use multiple approaches to address each child’s individual learning style (e.g. visual, kinetic or auditory). The book provides additional online activities that further the learned skills of each activity in the book.
In The Busy Preschooler’s Guide to Learning’s first poem, children explore “A is for Air.” Then they head online to the webscene for additional learning, including the ABC-TRACE-123™ handwriting activity in which they click and drag animal icons for a fun way to learn letter strokes. Check out the animated webscene for “A is for Air” and the ABC-TRACE-123™ at

KA Reader – great both as beginning readers and as read-to-me stories that help develop vocabulary through word families (e.g. the –at family: at, bat, cat, etc.). While similar to the rhyming and rhythmic style of Dr. Seuss, instead of only two or three words from a pattern family mingled with nonsensical words, these titles use 85 to 100% of a word pattern’s words. Webscenes include pop-up words that act like animated flashcards. Step-by-step lessons written in straightforward language make it easy to select sections appropriate for a child’s learning level. Online activities assess progress in areas such as comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. (May especially interest homeschoolers.)
KA Reader – Don’t Frown, Clown! features three mice who try to cheer up their sad friend by doing circus tricks. After reading chapter three of the book, kids go online to view the action at
www.KA-Reader.com/9-3KA Reader series books currently available (more in the works):

Here is some text from my review:
"We loved reading a chapter of the book and then heading to the computer for the webscenes. The webscenes are very colorful and shows a picture of the word patterns with the word. The kids really enjoyed that. Click Here to view a sample webscene. Gavyn, would say hey we just read about that, or let's go read the next chapter. He says this is a mystery mommy because I can't see pictures. Which is great he had to think about it, use his imagination. Zoe enjoyed going to the computer and pointing and telling me what she sees. It's very fun for the kids and us as parents also. The text is quite large so that makes it very easy to read. Each book contains an about the book section, Spanish text on the opposite page, the webscenes which are the animations, the story theme, word pattern families, word count and the reading grade level on the back of the book and online links to Reading Support Activities. This is so great for children especially to help with reading, and great fun for the summer months. Kids will not be bored reading anymore with IBW! Gavyn loves it even more now!"
