You may remember in this post that we were planning Zoe's big 3rd birthday bash with a little help from Betty Crocker. Zoe was stuck on having a tea party birthday until she saw sheep's, cows and pigs....oh my! She was instantly in love with having an Old MacDonald birthday party which meant I had to get planning.
Once I knew that was it, I went shopping for decorations. I found a site www.birthdayinabox.com that had everything I needed and wanted. I knew I had to have a banner that said Happy Birthday to her. It's a must.

I also knew I needed some fun props for the party. Pigs and cows were all over our home. Every birthday must have balloons as well so in my shopping cart they went. Next up were some napkins, tablecloths, a centerpiece, stand up animals and red bandannas for the boys. Gavyn unfortunately was a party pooper and refused to wear his so it ended up being our blind fold for the fun pin the tail on the cow game. Birthday in a Box prices are extremely affordable and have party themes galore. Any age no problem. The thing I really loved is at the end when your checking out your able to put in the party date so they guarantee delivery. I had my box of items in 3 days. Super fast delivery which makes me want to go back again. I highly recommend checking them out for your party needs.

Next up I had to get a dress. I did this last minute but am very pleased with the shop I used. I knew we were doing a farm themed party so I had to have something to match that. I didn't want Zoe wearing overalls and cowboy boots, she had to have a dress. I did a search for a cow pillowcase dress and found an etsy shop. Pink Petunia Pearl is an etsy shop specializing in custom boutique little girls clothing and hair bows. She has some adorable items so I knew I had to email Kari and ask her if I ordered this perfect moo cow dress if it would arrive to me before the party. She told me absolutely and had it to me within a few days. I received this dress and was in awe. This dress as two different patterns, polka dots and of course the cow print. The ties are in black and made of grosgrain. The minute Zoe put this on she started playing the part and mooed at everyone and everything. It was beautiful. Thank you so much to Kari at Pink Petunia Pearl for making my daughters party all that much better. The dress was perfect and will be used for years and years!!

So here we are party day...YAY! Ready to see what I made from the wonderful Betty Crocker site? A barn cake with farm cupcakes of course:) Click here to view the recipe as it is quite long. The recipe may look hard but it's not. I'm not a cake decorator by any means but with the video and the step by step instructions anyone can make this. I'm very happy with the turn out of this. Now the cows I did myself. I figured just frost the cupcakes white, swirl on a pink nose, add 2 mini M&M's for the nose and 2 for the eyes, I added a white spice drop cut in half for the horns and a purple spice drop cut in half for the ears. Cute huh? Yeah I know I'll be making a blog about creativity soon...well, maybe not! Oh and the rice crispy treats with the shoelace twizzlers tied around are my hay bales. I'm pretty proud of my creativity here! What do you think?

Yep I'm pretty proud of it and cannot believe how easy it was. They even give you ideas for food, snacks and drinks as well. Check out the Betty Crocker site for your next party planning ideas. They have so much to choose from!
Ok so now on to games. From the minute I knew we were having a farm themed party I had to have a spoon egg race. The kids had fun. They took their marks and off they went.

Sorry for cutting off everyones heads, I just do not have permission to post all my family on the net. Gavyn ended up getting waled with an egg in his side after as all the kids decided it was time to throw the eggs. We specified not at people or cars or houses. So the road and sidewalk was it really. He has a yucky welt on his side. That was the only booboo of the day thank goodness.
We then had a blast playing Pin The Tail on the Cow. We blindfolded the kids and spun them 3 times. The birthday girl her self won this one which made her so proud!

See the tail closest to where it should be? Ye that's where Zoe landed hers! Good job sweetie:)
The last game we play was find the candy in the hay. Hubby went and got me a bale of hay for this one..so thank you dear husband! I had to let the little ones go first since the older kids get a little crazy. It was funny watching the toddlers and than the older kids. The older kids threw the hay everywhere which was fun. This was fun for me because at every family reunion we find money/candy in the sawdust so this was a twist of that:)

Sorry for the extra long post everyone but I'm very happy with my first ever themed party!
She opened presents galore. She got clothes, a very cool My Little Pony Carnival toy, a tea set, play baking set and lots of other goodies.

See my getup for the day? I was called the preppy farm girl all day. Haha too funny. I do however think I'm looking a little too skinny...ugh not happy fat not happy skinny. Anyways, more of that to come this week with my fitness fun event!
We ate lots of good food and snacks and ate the delicious cake and cupcakes. We listened to great country music all day long and I played a fun toddler CD for Old MacDonald Had A Farm. We sent everyone home with the cute favor bags I made. Here is what I did. I went to the dollar tree to the wedding section and bought 2 packs of the boxes they have. I then wrote Happy 3rd Birthday Zoe with a fine tip Sharpie and drew on cow spots with a black paint pen. The ribbons and such were last minute but I decided to try to be some what more creative. So I dusted off my hot glue gun and went to town.

I'm so thankful for the beautiful weather we had today so we could be outside all day. Thank you mother nature! And a huge thanks to all the wonderful companies I chose to help me for my daughters 3rd birthday. Everything was perfect and there was so many smiles throughout the day! Until next year baby girl....Happy Birthday!!!!
