Recently, I was the lucky winner of a twitter contest held by Toads & Tulips. Toads & Tulips is an online shop founded by Mark, a dad of 3 who is a baby gear fanatic. Toads & Tulips offers great baby gear at great prices.

What I won in this twitter contest was the UPPAbaby 2009 G-Luxe Recline Stroller in black. Yes, I know I'm lucky :) This umbrella stroller is VERY impressive. Compared to my current umbrella stroller, which is from a retailer and was the least expensive model on the shelf. The stroller was shipped fast and was very easy to assemble.

The G-Luxe stroller is only 11 lbs making it the lightest full size reclining umbrella stroller that you can buy. There are many features to this stroller. The tires are extra wide and shock absorbing making a smooth ride for your little one. My current one has teeny wheels making it very bumpy.

It has a removable cup holder which can be positioned on either side of the stroller, a basket to carry the accessories and mama's handbags and the canopy opens and it's removable. There is also a fold out visor on the canopy for extra sun protection. There is also a mesh seat pad that is removable and washable. I love that this stroller easily closes with a trigger using your hands not your foot.



Mine and hubby's favorite feature has to be the height of the stroller. We are both tall. Myself at 5 foot9 inches and hubs at 6 foot5 inches. Basic umbrella strollers make us hunch over something horrible making our backs sore and often trading on who's turn to push. Not the G-Luxe. It stands at 42''! That is a great height for taller people. We do not have to lean over to push and our backs stay straight while pushing. I would say if you are short this would not be a good stroller but taller people this is a wonderful stroller.


This umbrella stroller reclines! From upright to 120 degrees. It reclines with a handy dandy pull cord. Very simple to use. That is my #1 fuss about basic umbrella strollers. My child's poor head when she falls asleep. Check her head out in her umbrella stroller.

Doesn't look very comfortable. Now while I was unable to give you any shots of Zoe lying down(only because I forgot) I will show you how far it reclines with the next set of photos.

I love that I can lay her down now if she falls asleep. This is just one of the great features of the G-Luxe.
When folded this stroller stands up. You can also hang it by the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is a great feature for on-the-go parents and families who travel often.


This stroller isn't big a bulky like traditional strollers and it's a higher quality than a basic umbrella stroller. It seems to be very comfortable. The stroller is recommended for ages 3 months to 40lbs. This stroller is lightweight, stylish, sleek and has many features basic umbrella strollers do not have. I would HIGHLY recommend the G-Luxe to anyone on the lookout for an umbrella stroller that does it all. I love it and am so happy I won this contest.
