PUR Flavor Options Pitcher Review & Giveaway! CLOSED

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED! CONGRATULATIONS COMMENT #34 bekki1820cb

We just moved into our new home a couple of months back and I have to tell you the water is not very good. Not very good to the point of we just will not drink it. Pretty sad I know. The home has not been lived in for almost 1 year so you can imagine how the water must taste plus all the contaminants in the water. I unfortunately dislike plain water so I have to buy flavor packets which tend to be all sugar, but I have to have the flavor. I was very excited to review the PUR Flavor Options Pitcher which filters your water and flavors it.

PUR is a leading brand in the at home water filtration category and is an economical alternative to plastic bottled water. PUR is the first leading brand to claim reduction of trace levels of pharmaceuticals identified in U.S. tap water*. In addition, PUR filters remove 99.9 percent of microbial cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium, which can lead to intestinal illness, as well as 94% of atrazine. PUR filters also reduce many kinds of contaminants in the water, while leaving fluoride, which is essential for developing and maintaining healthy teeth in children and adults, giving it the American Dental Association (ADA) Seal of Approval!

The pitcher was very easy to assemble. Once we assembled it we put water in the pour tray, which then filters into the pitcher reservoir giving you clean, filtered water. If you want flavor just push the button on the lid and out comes the flavor. The more you push the more flavor is added. I was sent a grape flavor and a raspberry. The grape is yummy. I haven't had a chance to try the raspberry yet but I bet it's just as good. The kids are drinking a lot more water because of the pitcher. PUR Flavor Options was named “Household Product of the Year” by Product of the Year USA in January 2009 and also comes in lemon, peach and strawberry. I really love having amazing water always in my fridge. Once it is out we just filter some more water into the pitcher. I fill my reusable bottle every night that I take to work and fill the pitcher back up. I would love a larger pitcher but this works great. There is also an electronic filter change light. This light tells you when it is time to change your filter. There is so much I love about this pitcher. First off the taste is pure. There is no bad after taste and the water taste so good. The way water should taste. Oh and now I can drink water by itself. It's design is sleek and compact. It doesn't take up much room at all. It fits on the door of my fridge also. The flavors cartridges have no sugar, calories, or dyes. And just think! Your helping out the environment and saving money. Switching from bottled water to filtered and a reusable bottle can eliminate up to 3,200 plastic bottles and save one person up to $600 annually.

CHECK THIS OUT!!!
This coming January, celebrities and educators will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, in a new effort called “SUMMIT ON THE SUMMIT,” which will raise awareness and funds for clean drinking water efforts.

Who is Going?

· Dr. Greg Allgood, Founder and Director of the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW), will be joining Jessica Biel, Isabel Lucas, Grammy-nominated artist Kenna (program founder), musician Lupe Fiasco and others on the 19,340-foot trek.

· While there, Dr. Allgood will educate the climbers on the global water crisis and what is being done to help.

Why is PUR Involved?

· PUR believes everyone, everywhere deserves clean drinking water – which is why they are constantly researching new innovations that can be used to ensure the water we drink is as clean as possible.

· In the U.S. this is done with PUR filtration systems, which reduce contaminants such as heavy metals, microbial cysts and pharmaceuticals – all of which may be found in tap water.

· Globally, through the CSDW Program and PUR Purifier of Water packets, PUR ensures those in developing countries have access to the clean drinking water they need.

How Can You Help?

· For every PUR system purchase, one week of clean drinking water is provided to a small child through the CSDW Program.

What is the CSDW Program?

· The CSDW Program distributes small, easy-to-use PUR packets of powdered mixture that remove impurities found in contaminated drinking water. Click HERE to see a demonstration.

· Through the use of these packets – which O Magazine recently called a “life-changing innovation” – CSDW has provided 1.6 billion liters of clean water to those in developing countries and at the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative made a new commitment to provide 4 billion liters by 2012.

I learned the Benzene may be in your water.
Benzene is a clear, colorless aromatic liquid. It is highly flammable. The greatest use of benzene is as a building block for making plastics, rubber, resins and synthetic fabrics like nylon and polyester. Other uses include: as a solvent in printing, paints, dry cleaning, etc.

Our water rates high on most everything except microbials and bacterial. The PUR filter/pitcher would reduce that to a drinkable amount and taste so much better, too.
